2.5 Hour Horseback Ride in Monteverde Costa Rica

Doing a Horseback Ride  in Monteverde Costa Rica is a great option! This 2.5 ride will take you through scenic countryside and is a perfect getaway from an hectic tour schedule. The ride offers spectacular views and the pace is leisurely enough that it’s a fun ride for everyone. 

The ride is perfect for beginners or more experienced riders looking for a shorter horseback ride in Monteverde Costa Rica, in the morning or afternoon. The ride offers great views of cloud forest in the distance (we don’t ride inside the forest reserves as domestic animals are not allowed). There are stunning viewpoints where you can admire the Gulf of Nicoya and it’s not uncommon to see various tropical birds and sometimes monkeys. The ride is within a wild 60 hectare farm and no cars! The terrain is rugged and you will go up and down mountain paths on our sure-footed horses. This is a great opportunity to do a horseback ride in Costa Rica!

Suitable for: Riders of all experience levels ages 6 and up. Children’s helmets and saddles are available and children ride their own horses.

Tour time: The ride is 2.5 hours and does not include travel time to and from Monteverde.  Meet times are at 8.30am and 1.30pm-2.30pm, (this is the last pick up time and you’ll just catch the beginning of the sunset on a sunny day, you can stay on if you have a car and your guide will show where to go for the best views).

For reasons of covid, if you have a car, we ask you to meet as in front of El Trapiche Tour. El Trapiche is opposite the Kinkajou Night Tour and about 7 minutes from Santa Elena (you will pass the Don Juan Coffee Tour on the way). From El Trapiche you will follow our guide a few minutes more to reach our car park near the horses.
